We Believe Elijah Has a Future Worth Fighting For

Elijah was diagnosed with a rare condition called NKH

but we refuse to let that define his life.

WHO ELIJAH IS

Elijah is more than a diagnosis.

He’s strong. He’s joyful. He’s fought battles most people will never see and he keeps going.

From the very beginning, we were told what his life might not be.

But we’ve chosen to believe in what it can be.

Every year since his first birthday, I’ve dressed Elijah as a profession.

Not because I know what his future holds…
But because I believe one day, he’ll get to choose.

🧬 WHAT HE’S FACING

Elijah has a rare genetic condition called non-ketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH).

It causes seizures, affects his development and requires ongoing care, strict nutrition, and constant support.

Many of the things he needs are not covered by insurance or are denied entirely.

But they are not optional.

They are essential for his quality of life.

WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW

We are currently facing:

  • $1,000/month in out-of-pocket functional medicines and holistic alternatives through Dr. Ben Bowers at Docere Life Center

  • A specialized medical chair (insurance denied—reapplication months away)

  • Therapy-based summer camps ($100/day)

  • Adaptive equipment so we can experience life together → Hiking equipment $2,500

And beyond that…

We dream of one day giving Elijah a home designed specifically for his needs.

🔥 THE FIRE FIGHTER STORY

This year… Elijah is a firefighter.

Because every day, he fights.

And because we believe his life is worth fighting for too.

We’re partnering with our local fire department to bring this moment to life…

not just to celebrate him, but to bring awareness to his journey.

A young woman with long brown hair and a young boy with short blonde hair smiling and laughing near a fire truck. The woman wears a white shirt with red accents, and the boy is dressed in a tan firefighter costume. The fire truck in the background has a large grille with the number 51 and firefighter insignia.
A young woman dressed in athletic attire, orange, black, and white striped pants, is holding a black helmet and talking to a young boy in firefighter gear, standing outside a fire station. A fire truck is in the background inside the station.
A woman and a young boy are playing with a toy gun outside a fire station garage. The woman is helping the boy hold the toy gun, and both are focused on it. The garage door is open, revealing parts of a fire truck inside.
